MS: NDNU 5, Dominican 0

Belmont, Calif. — The Dominican University of California men's soccer team wrapped up its 2010 campaign with a 5-0 road loss at Notre Dame de Namur University on Sunday in Pacific West Conference play.  The Penguins fall to 3-12-3 overall and a seventh place finish at 3-9-2 in the PacWest. The Argonauts stand at 13-3-2 and in third place with a 10-2-2 record.

The Penguin defense fended off NDNU, ranked fifth in NCAA Division II West Region, for the first 44 minutes of play. Nathan Carlson scored the game's first goal at 44:35 and sent the Argonauts into halftime with a 1-0 advantage.

The Argos poured on four more goals in the second half, at the 50, 58, 66, and 89-minute marks as five different Argonauts scored. Despite NDNU's propensity to score on Sunday, Dominican was only outshot 9-4 shots on goal.

Freshman David Mendez attempted two shots on goal for Dominican.

Sunday marked the final match in a Penguin uniform for seniors Shane Huiberts, Tim Pinella, Ryan Vella, Derrick Wilkinson, and Alec Ziegler.
