Millersville, Pa. - Mike Holley's (Baltimore, Md./Old Mill) Millersville debut was one for the history books. The rookie guard led the Marauders in scoring and assists in each of the first two games, and on Tuesday, he was named PSAC Eastern Division Freshman of the Week.
Holley averaged 15 points and four assists in Millersville's opening weekend. He became the first rookie in Fred Thompson’s 13-year tenure to lead the team in scoring in a season opener when he dropped 19 points in the win over Lock Haven. He hit 2-of-3 from 3-point range and hit 7-of-9 free throws. He also recorded five assists in the game.
The following day, Holley scored 11 points on 4-of-11 shooting and totaled three assists. He was the only Marauder to score in double figures in both games.
He is Millersville's first freshman of the week since Guye Weber won the award on Jan. 4 of last season.
Holley leads the Marauders against Philadelphia on Nov. 28. Game time is 3 p.m., and action can be heard on MSBN.
