ERIE, Pa. - Gannon’s Amanda Sharbaugh (Sarver, Pa./Knoch) has been named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-Atlantic Region women’s soccer third team released Friday morning. It marks the second consecutive year she has received all-region accolades from the NSCAA.
Sharbaugh has been named to the NSCAA all-region teams twice and the Daktronics all-region squads three times during her collegiate career. The junior midfielder was also named to the Daktronics All-Atlantic first team for the first time and the All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) first team for the third consecutive season earlier this year.
Sharbaugh led Gannon in goals (9), assists (5) and points (23). She ranked sixth among PSAC players in points per match (1.35) and ninth in goals per match (0.53). Sharbaugh produced two hat tricks, performing the feat during victories against Davis & Elkins and Mansfield.
The Sarver, Pa., native tied the school record for career goals (34) during the final match of the season. Sharbaugh also ended the season second all-time at Gannon with 85 career points, needing only five next season to tie Erin Cray’s (1997-00) school record of 90 points. She is fourth with 17 career assists, sitting six behind Courtney Rowan’s (2005-08) school record of 23.
Sharbaugh’s 2010 numbers were among the best single-season marks in school history. Her nine goals were the seventh-most in school history while her 23 points equaled the eighth-highest mark.
Gannon finished 4-10-3 overall and 3-9-2 in PSAC action. For the complete 2010 NSCAA All-Atlantic Region women’s soccer teams, please click here.
