Metro State Women's Soccer Reaches NCAA Tournament for Ninth Straight Year

INDIANAPOLIS - The Metro State women's soccer team (12-5-2) will face Colorado Mines (11-6-3) on Friday in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in Durango, Colo.  It is the ninth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance for the Roadrunners, the second-longest active streak behind Franklin Pierce's 19 consecutive years.

Fort Lewis (17-2-1) earned the No. 1 seed in the region and Winona State (14-3-1) was the No. 2 seed.  Regis (14-4-1) and New Mexico Highlands (12-6-2) will play at WSU.

Metro State has the second-most wins all-time in the NCAA Tournament with a record of 21-4-4 in nine previous appearances.  The Roadrunners won national championships in 2004 and 2006.

This is the first time in the past eight years that Metro State has not hosted a first round game.

Game times for the regional tournament will be announced later this week.
