Lock Haven Tops ESU Swimming in Dual Action

LOCK HAVEN – Senior Sarah Roscioli and sophomore Kimberly Lawson both swam a pair of PSAC qualifying times for East Stroudsburg University as the Warriors dropped a dual at Lock Haven, 159-103, on Saturday afternoon.

Lawson (200 fly), sophomore Sami Vavra (200 back) and freshman Allison Schafer (500 free) all won individual events, along with the 200 free relay team of sophomore Tara Robinson, Andrea Tremper, Lawson and Roscioli.

Roscioli qualified in the 100 and 200 breast stroke, where she holds all three school records from the 50 through the 200. She was second in both events behind Lock Haven’s Britt Rehrig, who swam an NCAA “B” time in the 100.

Lawson bettered her PSAC qualifying times in the 100 and 200 fly from earlier in the season and won the 200 in 2:18.82. Vavra was first in the 200 back, second in the 100 back and third in the 200 IM and Schafer was second in the 200 free along with her win in the 500 free.

The Warriors will be back in action next Saturday with their home dual opener against Mansfield at 1 p.m. at Koehler Fieldhouse.
