Lady Knights cap 2010 at the NCAA Southeast Regional

CHARLOTTE, N.C.—The St. Andrews Presbyterian College women’s cross country team wrapped up its season with a 26th place finish out of 28 teams at the 2010 NCAA Division II Southeast Regional on Saturday afternoon.

The Lady Knights were paced by senior Alex King (Tucson, Ariz.), who traversed the 6,000-kilometer course in 25 minutes and 59 seconds. King broke her 6k personal record by 28 seconds. King placed 103rd out of 188 entrants.

Junior foreign exchange student Sarah Kee (Lisburn, Northern Ireland) suffered a fall on a hill but was still able to finish the race as the Knights second fastest endurance runner. Kee finished her running collegiate running in a Royal Blue and White uniform in 17:03.

The freshman duo of Amanda Massengale (Midland, Ga.) and Karlee Arnold (Columbia, City, Ind.) once again scored for the Lady Knights. Massengale blazed the trails in 27:04 while Arnold set a new PR time of 27:15.

Just six seconds later, senior Allie Faulhaber (Apex, N.C.) was the Knights fifth scoring runner by crossing the finish line in a PR time of 27:21.

St. Andrews raced the maximum number of seven harriers allowed in a regional race. Junior Anna Egeln (Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.) recorded a PR time of 27:46 while senior Danielle Martin (Newport, N.C.) capped competition for the Lady Knights at 30:15.

SAPC – picked last in Conference Carolinas at the beginning of the season – finished ahead of league members Limestone College and Pfeiffer University. Host and No. 19 nationally ranked Queens University of Charlotte won the team title.
