Gannon's Kara Cullen Named to the NCAA Division II Atlantic Regional All-Tournament Team

ERIE, Pa. – Gannon’s Kara Cullen (Marstons Mills, Mass. / Barnstable) was named to the NCAA Division II Atlantic Region All-Tournament team after her performance in the 3-1 loss to Wheeling Jesuit. She was one of 12 student-athletes named to the team.

Against the Cardinals, Cullen recorded a game-high .417 attack percentage. The junior middle blocker had a team-high 13 kills and four blocks while recording only three errors in 24 attempts. It was her 12th double-digit kill performance of the season.

Cullen finished the season averaging 2.53 kills per set with a .324 hitting percentage. She finished first on the team in total blocks (103) and third in kills (243).

Xuan Gao (Lock Haven), Danielle Ostendorf (Indiana), Casey Gates (Wheeling Jesuit), Keysha Allison (Wheeling Jesuit), Gina Boothe (Edinboro), Maureen Tilert (Edinboro), Megan Franz (California), Kelly Fromknecht (California), Rebecca Webb (Clarion), Amanda Gough (Clarion) and Kelly Bartman (Clarion) completed the 12-member team.

The loss to Wheeling Jesuit saw the Lady Knights’ season come to an end with a 20-10 record. Gannon finished fourth in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC). The program also recorded back-to-back 20-win seasons and back-to-back NCAA Division II Tournament appearances for the first time since 1995.
