CSUMB Comeback Falls Short

SEASIDE, Calif. – The Cal State Monterey Bay rallied back from a two-set deficit to take Cal State Stanislaus to five, but fell short to the Warriors on Thursday night at the Kelp Bed. Final scores were 28-26, 25-22, 23-25, 20-25 and 15-9.

The Otters fall to 15-9 overall and 12-9 in California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) action while the Warriors evened out at 13-13 and 10-11 in conference play.

Junior Rheann Fall notched her 15th double-double of the season with 22 kills and 12 digs.  Junior middle hitter Melanie Lashbrook finished with a .342 attack percentage on 17 kills on 38 attempts and four errors.  Four Otters recorded double-digits in digs with junior Dionna Lucas leading the way with 19.

Stanislaus was led by Lianne Vicchio’s career-high 21 kills and libero Megan Britton’s 40 digs.

The Otters conclude their regular season on Friday, Nov. 12, hosting Chico State at 7 p.m. Prior to the game, CSUMB will honor its two seniors, Dana Grimm and Kami Ward.
