Cougar Men's Basketball Picked to Finish Sixth in CACC North

CALDWELL, N.J. - The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Men's Basketball Preseason Poll has Caldwell College tabbed for sixth place in the CACC North Division for the upcoming 2010-2011 season. The Cougars received 37 points, two behind fifth-place Nyack College and ahead of Concordia College's 21 points.

The 2010-2011 campaign begins on Nov. 12.

Caldwell, coached by Mark Corino, return 10 players, including four who started 14 or more games, from last year's squad that finished 4-23. The leading returning scorers are junior center Peter Diffley (Bellerose, NY/Episcopal), who averaged 10.4 points per game, and senior forward Antonio Brimley (Paterson, NJ/Paterson Eastside), who scored 10.2 points per contest a year ago. Brimley led the Cougars in rebounds with 5.5 boards per game, while junior guard Nik Otovic (Kraljevo, Serbia) dished out a team-best 67 assists. Caldwell has three seniors on this year's roster in Brimley, forward Tyler Emmons (Portland, ME/Portland) and guard Dante Rollins (East Orange, NJ/Bloomfield Tech).

Bloomfield College received six first-place votes and 83 points in the poll, one more point than defending CACC Tournament champion Felician College, which received seven first-place votes. Philadelphia University, which advanced to the finals of the NCAA Division II East Region Tournament, was picked to finish first in the South.

The Cougars begin the season at the Stonehill College Tournament in Easton, Mass., where they will face the host Skyhawks on Nov. 12 at 7:00 p.m. before taking on St. Michael's College on Nov. 13 at 1:00 p.m.
