Colo. School of Mines football team qualifies for NCAA Division II championships

GOLDEN, Colo. (Nov. 14, 2010) - Colorado School of Mines has qualified for the 2010 NCAA Division II football championships.  Mines has earned the # 6 seed in Super Regional Three.

# 6 seed Mines (9-2 overall) will play at # 3 seed Grand Valley State University (10-1 overall) on Saturday, November 20th, at 11:00 a.m. MDT (1:00 p.m. EDT - local time in Allendale, Mich.) at Lubbers Stadium in the first round of the 2010 NCAA Division II football championships.

The winner of the CSM and Grand Valley State game will advance to face the # 2 seed in Super Regional Three, Augustana (S.D.) College, on Saturday, November 27th, at Kirkeby-Over Stadium in Sioux Falls, S.D.  The Vikings (10-1 overall) earned a bye in the first round.

The quarterfinals (Super Regional Three championship) will be held on Saturday, December 4th.  The semifinals, which will pair up the Super Regional Three champion and the Super Regional Four champion, are scheduled to be held on Saturday, December 11th.  The semifinals may be moved to Sunday, December 12th, pending a decision by the televising networks.

The championship game will be played on Saturday, December 18th, at 9:00 a.m. MDT (11:00 a.m. EDT - local time in Florence, Ala.) at Braly Municipal Stadium on the campus of the University of North Alabama.  The championship game will be televised live on ESPN2 HD/ESPN3.com.
