Childress Earns Conference Honor

Jaguar Volleyball senior named to PBC’s All-Academic team

AUGUSTA, Ga. -- Augusta State’s Tarah Childress has been named to the 2010 Peach Belt Conference Volleyball All-Academic team, according to a recent release from the PBC office.

As a senior, Childress played in all 33 matches and made 123 overall appearances for the Jaguars with 82 career starts. In 2010, she ranked second on the team in hitting percentage (.186) and in blocks (79) and finished her career with 501 kills, including 168 this season.

A nursing major from Loveland, Ohio, Childress owns a 3.41 cumulative GPA.

To be eligible for the All-Academic team, a PBC student-athlete must have 1) participated in at least half of his/her team’s events and be either a starter or significant contributor; 2) achieved a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) and 3) completed at least one full academic year at his or her current institution. The PBC Sports Information Directors oversee and select the teams.
