Bradley, McTigue Earn All-West Region Honors

ROHNERT PARK, Calif. – Senior defender Lisa Bradley and junior forward Sarah McTigue of the UCSD women’s soccer team earned Daktronics/NCAA Division II All-West Region honors, it was announced Tuesday. Bradley was named to the First Team while McTigue was placed on the Second Team.

Two weeks ago, McTigue and Bradley were two of seven Tritons to be named to All-California Collegiate Athletic Association squads.

Bradley has started all 21 matches on the year while leading a Triton back-line that led the CCAA in goals against average (.55) and shutouts (12). She has scored twice, added two assists and logged 1,864 minutes in 2010- second most on the team.

McTigue, who is second on the team with eight goals, earned Second Team honors while logging a team-high 53 shots and three game-winning goals. An All-CCAA Second Team selection, McTigue earned Player of the Week honors for the week of Sept. 27 – Oct. 3 after scoring a pair of goals in victories over Cal State San Bernardino and Cal Poly Pomona.

The 12th-ranked UC San Diego women’s soccer team (16-2-3) continues its run for the 2010 NCAA Division II title with a match-up against No. 9 Seattle Pacific (16-1-2) in the West Region championship on Thursday, Nov. 18 at St. Edward’s University Soccer Field in Austin, Texas. Kickoff is set for noon, Pacific Time (2:00 p.m. Central). The West Region championship will follow the South Central Region championship match between St. Edwards (16-1-2) and Central Missouri (19-0) at 9:00 a.m. PST.

The winners of the South Central Region and West Region will meet at SEU Soccer Field for the quarterfinals on Saturday, Nov. 20 at 11:00 a.m. PST, vying for a trip to the Final Four in Louisville, Ky. (Dec. 2-4).
