Bloomsburg University Women’s Soccer Players Named All-PSAC

BLOOMSBURG— Five members of the Bloomsburg University women’s soccer team have been named All-PSAC (Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference) in voting by the conference coaches.

Named second team All-PSAC were Kristine Preski (Philadelphia, Owen J. Roberts), Katie Walczuk (Long Valley, NJ, West Morris Central), Natalie Adams (Wilkes-Barre, Holy Redeemer), Tara Huber (Orefield, Parkland)and Frances Nicoletti (Haddonfield, NJ, Haddonfield).

Preski, a senior back, was named All-PSAC for the fourth time in her career previously earning two first team and one second team selections. In 2010 she has scored five goals and assisted on one other for Bloomsburg. Her last goal came in the Huskies PSAC quarterfinal playoff game with Slippery Rock.

Walczuk, a junior playing in the midfield, earned her first career All-PSAC selection. She leads the Huskies in scoring this season with 30 points on 13 goals and four assists. Her 13 goals are tied for the ninth best single season mark in school history. Twice she has scored two goals in a game this season and twice she has notched two assists in the same game.

Adams, also a junior playing in the midfield, has scored two goals and assisted on a team-high seven goals this season. Her seven assists in one season is tied for the 10th best all-time in school history. Her best point game of the season came against Edinboro when scored once and had one assist. Adams was previously named both a first and second team All-PSAC selection in her career.

Huber, a freshman forward, is second on the Huskies in scoring this season with nine goals and four assists for 22 points. Huber’s best game of the season came in a win over Edinboro when she scored a career-high three goals. She also had two goals and two assists in a win at Davis and Elkins College.

Nicoletti, a junior, posted a goals against average of 0.83 as the Huskies goalie and posting eight shutouts. Her eight shutouts rank as the fourth best single season mark in school history. Three times this season she posted shutouts in back-to-back games. Nicoletti was named All-PSAC second team for the second time in her career.

Bloomsburg University head coach Sandy Dickson is glad to see her players be honored for their hard work.
“I am very pleased that several of our players were recognized by fellow PSAC coaches for their impact on the field this fall,” said Dickson. “Each one of them has offered their own unique contribution to a very successful season.”

The Huskies, 12-4-3 on the season, will play in an NCAA first round playoff game on Friday at noon against Kutztown. The game will be played at West Chester University. The winner will advance to second round playoff action on Sunday against West Chester.
