Bloomsburg Falls to Clarion in Men's Swimming

CLARION—The Bloomsburg University men’s swim team lost to Clarion by a score of 182-114 on Saturday.

Leading the Huskies were John King (Ridley Park, Ridley) and Juan Castaneda (Shamokin, Shamokin Area) turning in both a first and second place finish on the day.

King was first in the 1000-free in 10:05.16 and second in the 500-free in 4:55.04. Castaneda, last week’s PSAC Men’s Swimmer of the Week, was first in the 100-fly in 51.81 seconds and second in the 100-breast in 1:01.32.

The Huskies also swept the 200-fly event withThomas Malloy (Lancaster, Lancaster Catholic) first in 2:00.82 with Ben Safran (Doylestown, Central Bucks West) second in 2:02.63 and Mark DiLemmo (Doylestown, Central Bucks East) third in 2:03.01.

Bloomsburg swims again Dec.2-4 at the Zippy Invitational at the University of Akron.
