Crusaders Set School Records For Overall & Conference Wins
The fifth-seeded Belmont Abbey volleyball team's 2010 season came to an end with a 3-0 loss at the fourth-seeded Queens University of Charlotte Royals in the quarterfinal round of the 2010 Conference Carolinas Tournament. Set scores were 19-25, 20-25 and 14-25. Queens improves to 20-9 as it advances to face the top-seeded Lees-McRae Bobcats in the semifinal round Friday night, while the Abbey ends its season with a record of 18-11.
The Abbey hit -.012 as Lydia Schellenberg led the Crusaders with six kills. Remick Tiller added five. Kay Schellenberg handed out 15 assists.
Defensively, Julianne Pisano finished with seven of the Abbey's 22 digs, while Lydia Schellenberg posted six.
Queens hit .280 as Keri Kemp led the Royals with 11 kills, while Brittany Harvey added ten. Avery Moore posted 36 assists and two service aces.
The Royals logged 34 digs as Sarah Malpass led all players with 12.
The Crusaders finished the 2010 season by setting school records for overall wins (18) and conference wins (11).
