Cross Country Teams Post Impressive Times at Regionals

BOSTON, Mass. - The University of New Haven men's and women's cross country teams competed at the 2010 NCAA Division II Cross Country East Region Championship meets on Sunday morning at Franklin Park in Boston. The men's team finished in ninth place, while the women finished in 12th place.

Led by Matt Dunham, the men's team posted a combined total of 288 points and an average time of 33:52 in the 10k race. Dunham posted a time of 33:18 in 42nd place, while the team's next four runners finished in the top 80 runners. Timothy Nehelty was second on the team with a time of 33:32 in 46th place. Samuel Montclair, Ryan Frietas and Patrick Leach rounded out the Chargers top five runners.

The women's team was led by All-NE-10 performer Dominique Stasulli with a time of 23:42 and a 17th place finish in the 6k race. The sophomore missed her second postseason honor by just three seconds as the top 15 performers earn All-Region honors. Senior Lauren Dimitruck was second on the team with a 57th place finish and a time of 24:53. Bridget Faria, Tania Bernardino and Hillary Bauer finished in the final third places for the Chargers.

The Chargers cross country teams concluded the 2010 fall season with the regional championship meets.
