Wright Hits Century Mark, Coker Falls to Queens 65-50

HARTSVILLE, SC - The Coker Cobras men's basketball team took on the Queens University of Charlotte Royals in a Conference Carolinas match-up on Saturday night, with the Royals defeating Coker 65-50. The Cobras fell to 3-4 on the season and 1-1 in conference play. The Royals improved to 3-4, and are also 1-1 in conference play.

Senior Liam Kyle (Cleveland, OH) led the Cobra offense with 14 points, eight rebounds, and two assists. The Cobras shot 33.3% from the floor, and 62.5% from the charity stripe. It was a milestone night for senior Tom Wright (Sydney, AUS) who scored six points, making him the first Coker player to eclipse the 100 point mark this season. Wright's six points bring him to 101 on the season.

Queens was led by senior Reggie Hopkins (Gastonia, NC) who scored 17 points and had four assists. Queens is now 2-3 in their last five meetings against Coker. The Royals out rebounded Coker 36-27 during the contest.

The Cobras will take to the floor again December 14 against Newberry College at 7:00 p.m.
