Svensson Named to NCCSIA All-State Team

RALEIGH, N.C. – Sophomore Anna Svensson was named to the 2010 North Carolina Collegiate Sports Information Association (NCCSIA) All-State Women’s Soccer Team the organization announced Wednesday.

Svensson grabbed one of the three forward spots on the team as she finished her sophomore campaign with 17 goals while contributing five assists for a team-best 39 points. The Sweden native tallied 62 shots this season, 31 of which (.500) were on goal, while also recording six game-winning goals for the Lady Braves. She has received one PBC weekly honor along with being named to the all-conference first team and preseason all-conference team. She was also one of two honorees for the PBC's "Golden Ball" award, given annually to the player that led the league in goals scored through the end of the regular season. She was named to the Daktronics all-region team for the second consecutive year and to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) all-southeast region first team.

Lenoir-Rhyne sent three players to the team while Pfeiffer included two. UNCP along with Belmont Abbey, Methodist, Salem, Mount Olive and Mars Hill added one apiece to the all-state squad.
