SERIES HISTORY: The all-time series between Lewis and Grand Valley State is tied at seven wins apiece.

THE LAST TIME WE MET: Grand Valley State defeated Lewis 71-56 on Dec. 8, 2009 last season in Allendale, Mich. Jenny Turpel had 18 points.

LAST TIME OUT: Lewis never trailed in a 92-54 romp at Missouri-St. Louis on Saturday. Lewis led by 30 points at halftime. Senior Jenny Turpel scored the first four points of the game and the second half. She finished with a game-high 14 points. Senior Kelly Monaco, sophomore Labrenthia Murdock and junior Madeline Kish each had 13 points. All 12 Flyers scored for Lewis.

TOP 10 AT HOME: The Lakers' visit to Neil Carey Arena is the first top 10 team to come to Romeoville since Northern Kentucky visited as the nation's second ranked team on Jan. 29, 2009. The Flyers came up on the short end of that contest 66-56.

DOUBLE-TROUBLE: Turpel's double-double on Thursday, Dec. 2 at Maryville was the 19th of her career and her second of the year. She had 12 last season.

TIME CHANGE: Lewis' next home game, scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 2 against Bellarmine, has been changed from a 1 p.m. start to a 5:30 p.m. start.

DEFENSE: The 23.1 percent (18-of-78) shooting Lewis limited UMSL to last Saturday was the conference's best defensive performance during the opening two days of GLVC play.

DEFENSE, DEFENSE: UMSL's 15 points marked the best first half defensive performance for a Lewis team since March 4, 2005 when the Flyers limited Southern Indiana to 14 points in the opening round of the GLVC Tournament.

DEFENSE, DEFENSE, DEFENSE: Lewis' 47-point victory over UMSL was the Flyers' largest margin of victory since defeating Kendall by 62 points (91-29) on Dec. 1, 1997.

THREE!: Kelly Monaco's 23 3-pointers this season is second in the conference. Quincy's Stephanie Wagner leads with 31.

HELPING HAND: Kady Currin's 6.25 assists per game is first in the GLVC.

DEAD-EYE: Carol Kruckman leads the GLVC in free-throw percentage, making 22-of-25 (.880) on the year.

ON PACE FOR A RECORD: Lewis ranks second in the conference in free throw percentage, making 131-of-159 attempts (82.4 percent). Lewis' single-season record for free throw percentage was set in 2003-04 at 77.0 percent.

DON'T PLAN A VACATION IN JANUARY: Of Lewis' nine GLVC home games this season, seven are in the month of January. The schedule includes a four games in eight days stretch on Jan. 2nd, 4th, 6th and 8th.

THEY CALL HER MONEY: Kelly Monaco, known as Money to her teammates, ranks fifth all-time in career 3-pointers with 159. She needs five to pass current assistant coach Tracy Summers' 164 (2000-04) for fourth place.

The second will be on Thursday, Jan. 20 at 5:30 against Drury. Lewis defeated Missouri-St. Louis and Southern Indiana on Lakeshore last season.

JT's CAREER POINTS: Jenny Turpel's 1,482 points ranks seventh all-time in Lewis history. Another 500-point season would put her second all-time in Lewis history. First up though is sixth place Mary Niego, who totaled 1,563 from 1980-83.

JT's CAREER BLOCKS: Jenny Turpel's 93 blocks ranks fifth all-time in Lewis history. She is two short of passing Jackie Wayne's (1987-91) 92 for fourth place. For her career, Turpel is averaging exactly one block a game.
