Four Spartans Earn Spot On All-Region Team

KANSAS CITY, Kan. - The University of Tampa men's soccer team had four players selected to the NSCAA/Performance Subaru NCAA Division II All-South Region team. Ryan Griffin and Lister Warren were both first-team selections as Brian Fekete and David Niepel found a spot on the second team.

Griffin was second on the team with seven goals as the midfielder was also instrumental on UT's defensive unit. He also led all Spartans with five game-winning goals. Warren turned in a team-high 12 goals and 29 points while notching two game-winners.

Fekete led the defensive unit and tallied three goals and five assists. Niepel enjoyed a stellar freshman season in goal, recording seven shutouts to go with a 0.86 GAA.

Voting for the NSCAA all-region team was conducted by regional coaches. First-team selections will be placed on a ballot to receive All-American consideration.
