Five Bentley Swimmers & Divers Recognized by Northeast-10

WALTHAM, Mass. -- Five members of the Bentley University swimming and diving teams, including senior Anne Kaduboski (Dedham/Dedham HS) and sophomore George Go (Manila, Philippines), have been recognized by the Northeast-10 Conference this week following their strong performances in Saturday’s triangular meet with Regis College at Norwich University.

Kaduboski was named the NE-10 Women’s Swimming Athlete of the Week for the second straight week and the 14th time in her career, and Go was the choice for NE-10 Men’s Swimming Athlete of the Week.  Rookie of the Week honors went to Phillip Chan (Wilmette, Ill./New Trier HS) and Kellen Power (San Jose, Calif./Valley Christian HS), and sophomore Shelly D’Aleo (Enfield, Conn./ Suffield Academy) was the selection for Women’s Diving Athlete of the Week.

Kaduboski finished first in both events she swam, with times of 11:08.78 in the 1000 yard freestyle and 5:26.80 in the 500 free. Go captured all three individual events he participated in,  reaching the wall in 26.45 seconds in the 50 backstroke, 56.83 seconds in the 100 back and 25.38 seconds in the 50 butterfly. He was also part of the Falcons’ 200 free relay team that placed second in 1:34.91.

Chan finished first in three individual events and was also a member of Bentley’s winning 200 free relay team. His winning efforts were 29.13 in the 50 breaststroke, 1:05.35 in the 100 breast, 58.96 in the 100 individual medley and 1:33.31 in the 200 free relay. Power posted victories in the 100 butterfly (1:01.16) and the 200 individual medley (2:19.97), and was a member of the Falcons’ 400 medley relay that finished third (4:37.16).

D’Aleo took both diving events, with scores of 169.20 and 235.70.

Both Bentley teams improved to 5-0 on the year by besting both Regis and Norwich, and it marks the first time in 10 years that the Falcon men and women both entered the winter break with unblemished records in dual competition. The women return to the pool Jan. 6 against Plymouth State and the men make their 2011 debut a week later at St. Michael’s.
