FELICIAN MEN"S BASKETBALL FALLS SHORT AT POST, 66-62

WATERBURY, Conn. -- In its final Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference game of the calendar year, the Felician College men's basketball team was edged by host Post University, 66-62, in CACC North Division action Thursday night at the Drubner Center.

The game was tied for the ninth and final time, 58-58, with two minutes, 24 seconds, remaining in regulation. Post (4-4, 2-1) took the lead for good on its next possession on a three-point field goal by graduate student Cecil Stinson (Montclair, NJ), and would push the lead to five points. Felician received a basket from Suquan Gary (Paterson, NJ), a steal by Kashiff Foster (Somerset, NJ) and two free throws from Devon Young (Monmouth Junction, NJ) to cut its deficit to 63-62 at the 0:28 mark. But after a single Post free throw, the Golden Falcons missed on a go-ahead three-point attempt, and Stinson sealed the game at the foul line.

Foster topped Felician (2-5, 0-2) with 18 points and nine rebounds. Young tallied 16 points and Gary added 14 points and six boards. Stinson led all scorers with 19 points for the Eagles and teammate Garvin McAlister (Norwich, CT) posted 15 points, seven rebounds, nine assists and four steals.

Post scored the final six points of the first half, cutting a seven-point Felician advantage to 34-33 at halftime. The Golden Falcons scored the first six points of period two before the Eagles responded with the next 11. Post's largest lead of the period was eight on at the 8:18 mark, but the teams were never separated by more than five points over the final eight minutes. Felician was hampered by 17 turnovers leading to 21 Eagle points.
