Cotter Honored at NFCA National Convention

River Hawk Softball Coach Honored for 300th Career Win

LOWELL – UMass Lowell softball Head Coach Sean Cotter was one of 120+ coaches honored on Thursday at the Easton Victory Club Luncheon at the 2010 National Fastpitch Coaches Association National Convention at the San Diego Marriott and Marina in San Diego, Calif.

Cotter picked up his 300th career victory in the 2010 season, with a victory over the Saint Michael’s College Purple Knights on April 13.

The NFCA/Easton Victory Cub recognizes member head coaches for every 100-victory milestone they pass during their career.  Leading the way this year was University of Arizona’s Mike Candrea with 1400 wins through his career.

Cotter is in his second season at the helm of the River Hawk softball program and has guided UMass Lowell to a 23-27 record overall.

Prior to his arrival at River View Field, he was the head coach at Plattsburgh and Post University.  His combined record from all three institutions is 310-213.
