Jones Named Third-Team All-Region
Houghton, Mich. --- Minnesota State senior offensive lineman Jeremy Clark has been named to the Don Hansen Football Gazette First-Team All-Region Three squad which was released Thursday morning.
Senior defensive back Troy Jones was also honored by the Gazette as he was tabbed a Third-Team All-Region selection.
Clark, a native of Waukesha, Wis., now advances to the national ballot.
This past season, Clark started and played in all 11 games this past season for Minnesota State and finished his career starting in 44 of the 46 games he played in over his career.
This year, Clark was the lynch-pin for a Maverick offensive line which saw the offense rush for 1,729 yards and passed for 2,037. He was a First-Team All-NSIC South Division selection this past season and was also selected to the Daktronics All-Region Three Second-Team.
Jones – a First-Team All-NSIC South Division selection as well – finished the season fourth in tackles with 49. The Maple Grove, Minn., native also recorded four pass break-ups and a pair of interceptions this past season.
The Don Hansen Football Gazette All-Region team is voted on by selected Sports Information Directors in each region.
Minnesota State finished the 2010 season with a 6-5 record marking the 45th time in school history that the Mavericks have finished with a winning record.
