Anderson, Stedman Earn All-Super Region One Honors

WEST HAVEN, Conn. - University of New Haven football student-athlete Desmond Anderson has been named to the 2010 Daktronics, Inc. All-Super Region 1 Frist Team, while teammate David Stedman earned Second Team honors.

Anderson led the way for the Chargers secondary this season and earned All-Northeast-10 Conference honors as well. The junior posted seven interceptions, a mark that ranked him third in the NCAA Division II and first in the Northeast-10 Conference. He picked off multiple passes in two games this year, including a career-high three interceptions in a 34-17 victory at Setan Hill University. He also recorded 53 tackles, one fumble recovery and two pass breakups on the season.

Stedman was crucial components of the NE-10’s second ranked scoring offense this year. The left guard from Hasbrouck Heights, N.J. was the focal point of the Chargers offensive line, a unit that provided lots of running room for running back Victor Jones. Stedman was an All-NE-10 First Team selection as well.

With his first team honors, Anderson is now eligable for the Daktronics, Inc. All-American team which will be announced in the coming weeks.
