#2 Oilers Blast Panthers 91-72

The University of Findlay men’s basketball team, ranked second in the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) poll, defeated Ohio Dominican University 91-72 on Saturday, December 18 in Croy Gymnasium to run their record to 10-0 on the year with a 3-0 mark in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).

The Oilers shot 53.0 percent (35-of-56) from the floor and drilled 12-of-22 (54.5%) of their shots from behind the three point line.

Freshman forward Greg Kahlig, making his first career start, scored 22 points on 8-of-12 shooting to lead the team. He also tallied three rebounds and made 4-of-7 shots from three point range.

Sophomore guard Aaron Robinson and junior guard Kyle Caiola each added 12 points while freshman guard Sean Samsel and sophomore forward Jack Smith contributed 11 points apiece.

The Panthers were led by John Trew’s 13 points off the bench.

The Oilers will be back in action again on December 29 when they face Southwestern College in Phoenix, Arizona. The contest is scheduled to begin at 10 pm Eastern time.
