West Texas A&M's Irwin Named LSC Freshman of the Year

CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M cross country runner Luke Irwin has been named the Lone Star Conference Freshman of the Year for the 2010 season. Irwin won the award by finishing ahead of all freshmen at the LSC Cross Country Championships in Abilene, Texas on the campus of Abilene Christian University on November 6.

Irwin, a Uxbridge, Ontario native, finished in 11th place with a time of 25:21 on the eight kilometer course. The Buffs finished the event in eighth place with a team total of 190 points, the host Wildcats won the event for the 20th consecutive year with a total of 54 points.
