ANCHORAGE (Nov. 4) – Alaska Anchorage sophomore Marie Borowikow has been named an ESPN Academic All-District first-team honoree in the District 8 College Division for the sport of volleyball.
The 6-3 right-side hitter from Eberswalde, Germany, carries a 4.00 grade-point average as a psychology major. Borowikow has played in every set for the Seawolves this year, helping the team to a 15-7 record and a No. 7 ranking in the NCAA Division II West Region. She currently ranks fourth in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference with 1.02 blocks per set and 10th in the league with a .232 attack percentage.

As a first-team selection, Borowikow will now move on to the national balloting for Academic All-America status.
