(Warrensburg, Mo.) – The University of Central Missouri football squad had two student-athletes named to the CoSIDA/ESPN Academic All-District Team this week in senior quarterback Eric Czerniewski and sophomore offensive lineman Logan Freeman.
Both were members of the District VII second-team, voted on by Division II, III and NAIA Sports Information Directors in the district. To qualify, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.30, and be a sophomore or later in eligibility, as well as making significant contributions to their team.
Czerniewski is the MIAA’s all-time (11,790 yards) and single-season (4,150 yards) passing leader, and boasts a 3.49 GPA in business management. He leads the nation in passing this season, and holds 20 school records for passing at UCM.
Freeman has started every game this season for the league’s top-rated offense, playing both tackle and center. The Mules are 13th in the nation in sacks allowed as well. He has a 3.69 GPA in hotel/restaurant management.
