Spartans Place Three On Academic All-District Team

TAMPA, Fla. - Courtney Peffley was one of three University of Tampa women's soccer players to be honored, garnering CoSIDA ESPN Academic All-District first-team honors. Seniors Pasquale Anderson and Luana Miessa were also third-team selections on the team.

Peffley, who will now appear on the ballot for Academic All-American, is a general studies major who was also on the Sunshine State Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll as a freshman. In 17 games, Peffley leads the Spartans with 10 assists and also owns one goal on the year.

Anderson and Miessa are also starters for Tampa, with Anderson heading up the defensive unit. Miessa is the team's leading scorer seven goals and 16 points.

Nominations and voting for the All-America programs are conducted by members of the College Sports Information Directors of America. There is a University Division (Division I programs) and a College Division (DII, DIII, NAIA, NJCAA programs).
