Six Lady Buffs, Skoch Tabbed All-Conference Selections

CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M’s Lauren Thedford, Keidra Williams and head coach Jason Skoch highlighted the awards banquet for the Lady Buffs Volleyball team at the WTAMU Alumni Facility in Canyon on Wednesday.

Thedford, a senior outside hitter, was named the Lone Star Conference Academic Player of the Year, while Williams, a junior middle blocker, was named the LSC’s Newcomer of the Year. Skoch, in his second season with the Lady Buffs, was named the conference’s Coach of the Year, after guiding WT to its second straight undefeated season in conference play.

Thedford earned first team all-LSC honors, as did Williams. Both players shared that honor with junior setter Erika Dupree, who was also named to the all-conference first team. Dupree earned first-team all-academic honors with Thedford as well.

Sophomore outside hitter Stormi Lancaster, sophomore libero Lauren Beville and freshman outside hitter Ashley Davis were each named Honorable Mention for their efforts on the court as well.

Skoch and the Lady Buffs return to action this Thursday, Nov. 11, with a first-round match against Incarnate Word in the LSC Championship Tournament. First server for the Lady Buffs is set for 7:30 p.m.
