Sellers Tabbed as LSC North Defensive Player of the Week

RICHARDSON, TEXAS— Junior linebacker Perron Sellers (La Marque, Texas/La Marque HS/Fullerton JC) from the Eastern New Mexico University football team has been chosen as the Lone Star Conference North Division Defensive Player of the Week, for his outstanding performance against Northeastern State. Sellers is the fifth Greyhound to earn weekly LSC honors this season.

In addition to making a career-best 15 tackles with 10 solo stops, Sellers forced a fumble in the third quarter,  just three plays after ENMU tied the game at 21-all. He added a third-down quarterback hurry in the third quarter and a sack in the second quarter.

Sellers joined Matt Kalisch (Sr., DE, Harker Heights, Texas/Harker Heights HS/NMMI) and Tillman Stevens (Sr., DB, Baytown, Texas/Sterling HS) as a LSC Defensive Player of the Week selection. Wesley Wood (So., QB, Muleshoe, Texas/Muleshoe HS) and Jessie Poku (Sr., WR, Murphy, Texas/Richardson HS) garnered LSC Offensive Player of the Week laurels, earlier in the season.

The Eastern New Mexico University football team will close out their 2010 season on Saturday at Tarleton State. The game is slated to kick off at 11 a.m. MST.
