PEMBROKE, NC – In a rescheduled match that serves as a tuneup to the upcoming CIAA Tournament, the Fayetteville State Lady Broncos fell on the road to UNC Pembroke in volleyball on Monday night.
The match was originally scheduled for Oct. 7, but was postponed after officials failed to show up for the match. It was made up on Monday, with the Lady Braves prevailing 3-1 by the scores of 25-15, 22-25, 25-14 and 25-9.
Octavia Wynn (So., Hope Mills, NC) led Fayetteville State (13-6, 13-4), which completed its CIAA season last week, with eight kills while Joi Emanuel (So., Charlotte, NC) and Jessica Hardy (Fr., Fayetteville, NC) added five kills apiece. Achari Mainor (Sr., Antioch, CA) led the Lady Broncos, who begin play in the CIAA Tournament on Friday, with 21 assists while JaMisha Jordan (Fr., Fayetteville, NC) chipped in a team-high 11 digs.
Rebecca Morgan led UNC-P (19-10) with 19 kills while Heather Bolwerk had a game-high 29 assists.
