Morley, Causseaux, Phan and Schwartzman Named All-RMAC

COLORADO SPRINGS - The Metro State volleyball team placed four players on the All-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference teams on Tuesday.  Bri Morley and Julie Causseaux were both first team selections, while Ngoc Phan and Darcy Schwartzman both were third team picks.  The last time Metro State had two players on the All-RMAC first team was 2005 when Stefanie Allison and Gabe Curtis both earned the honor.

Morley, a 5-foot-9 junior outside hitter from Parker, Colo., finished third in the RMAC in kills and points and was tied for second in service aces during conference play.  For the season, she is averaging 3.78 kills and 1.75 digs, while hitting .242.  She also has 27 service aces, second on the team.  Morley has been named first team All-RMAC all three years at Metro State and was the 2010 RMAC Preseason Player of the Year.

Causseaux, a 5-foot-11 junior middle blocker from Dumas, Texas, was sixth in the RMAC in hitting percentage, eighth in blocks and 10th in points during conference matches.  She currently is averaging 2.59 kills and 1.02 blocks, while hitting .323.  This is the first all-conference award of her career, though she was named to the 2009 RMAC All-Tournament team and 2009 NCAA Central Region All-Tournament team.

Phan, a 5-foot-5 junior libero from Lone Tree, Colo., finished fourth in the RMAC in digs, despite not earning the starting libero position until October.  After earning that spot, she averaged 5.42 digs in the RMAC, but has an average of 4.06 for the season.  The RMAC leader during conference play averaged 5.18 digs.  Phan was named American Volleyball Coaches Association National Player of the Week last week after averaging 8.25 digs in two matches at No. 9 Nebraska-Kearney and Chadron State.

Schwartzman, a 5-foot-8 junior setter from Aurora, Colo., finished second in the RMAC in assists and helped the Roadrunners finish second in the RMAC in hitting percentage during the conference season.  For the year, Schwartzman is averaging 11.63 assists and 2.41 digs and has helped Metro State hit .255 as a team.  She was named RMAC Setter of the Week four times this season, tied for the most in the conference.

Metro State, ranked 12th in the nation with a record of 22-5, will face Western New Mexico on Thursday at 12 p.m. (CST) in the RMAC Tournament quarterfinals in Kearney, Neb.
