Match times for NCAA Southeast Volleyball Regional announced

WINGATE, N.C. --- Match times for this weekend’s NCAA Division II Volleyball Southeast Regional have been announced with Friday’s quarterfinal contest between No. 3 seed Tusculum and sixth-seeded Carson-Newman beginning at noon to open this year’s eight-team, single-elimination event at Cuddy Arena on the Wingate University campus.

The Tusculum/Carson-Newman match will be the first of four quarterfinal contests on Friday.  No. 2 Flagler will face fellow Peach Belt Conference member Armstrong Atlantic State at 2:30 p.m., followed by the Lincoln Memorial/Montevallo match at 5 p.m.  Top-seeded Wingate will host No. 8 seed Lees-McRae at 7:30 p.m. to wrap up the first day.

The winner of the Tusculum/Carson-Newman will play in Saturday’s 5 p.m. semifinal against the winner of the Flagler/Armstrong Atlantic State match.  The second semifinal will be at 7:30 p.m. with the LMU/Montevallo winner taking on the Wingate/Lees-McRae victor.

The Regional Championship match will be held Sunday at 7:30 p.m. from Cuddy Arena with the winner advancing to the Division II Fall Sports Festival in Louisville, Ky.

The Pioneers (25-6) are making their second straight trip to the NCAA postseason.  Tusculum is enjoying its finest season  as a NCAA Division II member (since 1998).
