Mars Hill's Osterloh Named SAC Freshman of the Year

Harb, Chavez voted second team All-SAC

ROCK HILL, S.C. - Mars Hill's Richard Osterloh was named the 2010 South Atlantic Conference Freshman of the Year, the league announced today. Mars Hill also had three All-Conference selections in Osterloh, Shadi Harb and Troy Chavez.

Osterloh, a freshman forward from Sao Paulo, Brazil, led the conference with 2.56 points per game and 1.11 goals per game. Osterloh was a first team selection, while midfielder Shadi Harb (and defender Troy Chavez were named to the second team.

Anderson University junior forward Lasse Sohrweide was named the Men's Soccer Player of the Year, while Wingate University Coach Gary Hamill was named Men's Soccer Coach of the Year.

The All-Conference teams are selected by the league's head coaches.

The statistical champion and senior awards were also announced.

Mars Hill will battle Wingate in the conference tournament semifinals on Friday. The game will start at 6 p.m. in Rock Hill, S.C.
