SALISBURY, N.C. - Seventh-seed Mars Hill saw its five-match win streak snapped in a loss to second-seed Tusculum in the quarterfinals of the Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Volleyball Tournament. The Pioneers won in three sets by scores of 25-20, 25-17 and 25-20 to improve to 24-5. The Lions end their season at 13-12.
Allyson Ray led Tusculum with 12 kills. Rhayne Smitherman and Sam Underwood had 11 and 10 kills, respectively.
Caitlyn Dean posted 33 digs. Bailee Price followed up with 16 digs. Ashley Sarmiento had 38 assists.
Marissa Wixson recorded a double-double for Mars Hill with 12 kills and 10 digs. Maggie Murphy had 25 digs.
Sarah Paquette dished out 17 assists. Becca Smith netted 12 assists.
