Lewis To Swim In USA Swimming/Toyota Grand Prix This Weekend

Lewis will have 18 swimmers in 23 events

ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – The Lewis University swim teams will head up to Minneapolis, Minn. Nov. 12-14 to compete in the USA Swimming/Toyota Grand Prix, hosted by the University of Minnesota. The event is the first stop of the Grand Prix series, which features some of the best swimmers in the nation.

Olympic gold medalist Michael Phelps headlines the meet. He was the overall points leader in the series in 2008. Other notable swimmers include Tunisian Olympic gold medalist Ous Mellouli along with national team members David Plummer, Elizabeth Pelton, Missy Franklin and Christine Jennings.

The Flyers will send 18 swimmers to the meet in 23 different events between the men and women.

Preliminaries begin at 9 a.m. and finals begin at 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and at 5 p.m. Sunday.
