Griffons finish up season with two games

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. - The Missouri Western volleyball team (12-15, 8-10 MIAA) will finish up the 2010 season with two games this week. Western will travel to Maryville, Mo. on Wednesday, November 10 to take on the Northwest Missouri State Bearcats at 7:00 pm in Bearcat Arena. Western will wrap up the season on Saturday, November 13 hosting the 18th ranked Truman State Bulldogs (23-7, 12-6 MIAA) on Senior Night in the MWSU Fieldhouse. Match time is set fro 7:00 pm. Western will honor three senior student athletes prior to the contests. Those players include: Kelli Sicner, Meghan Voelz and Lauren Burback.

Northwest Missouri State sits at 6th in the latest South Central Regional poll while the Bulldogs sit in 3rd. Western defeated the Bearcats earlier this season by a score of 3-2 back on October 13 in St. Joseph and fell to the Bulldogs 3-1 in Kirksville, Mo. on October 16.

Senior Kelli Sicner leads the team averaging 2.67 kills per set. She also leads the squad with 270 kills on the season. Junior Tahler Johnson is second on the squad with 253 kills averaging 2.51 per set. Freshman Stephanie has 185 kills on the season to go along with 601 set assists and 227 digs. Senior Meghan Voelz leads the team in digs with 290. Junior Alex Behnke leads the squad in blocks with 88.
