Falcons Finish Fifth at PBC Championship, Evans Named All-Conference

EVANS, Ga.- The University of Montevallo women’s cross country team raced to a fifth-place finish at the Peach Belt Conference Championship. Sophomore Haley Evans (Fairhope, Ala./Fairhope) finished eighth overall good for a Second Team All-Conference nod. She was named First Team All-Conference last season after finishing sixth. She came across the line with a time of 25:23.0 just three second behind the seventh-place runner.

Freshman In-Mi Matsunaga (Enterprise, Ala./Enterprise) crossed the line with a time of 26:20.3 and a 21st-place finish. Junior Katherine Schofield (Lawrenceville, Ga./Brookwood) was the next Falcon finisher in 25th. She had a time of 26:29.4.

Junior Ginny Davis (Madison, Ala./Bob Jones) and senior January Waters (Grayson, Ga./Grayson) crossed the line 31st and 32nd with times of 27:12.9 and 27:14.0. Sophomore Kaley Glover (Opelika, Ala./Beauregard) came across 38th with a time of 27:41.6.

The Falcons final finisher was junior Whitney Adkins (Conyers, Ga./Heritage) who finished 40th with a time of 27:47.2.

The Falcons finished ahead of Georgia College, Flagler College, USC Aiken, Georgia Southwestern and Francis Marion University. Columbus State University won the race with five runners in the top-10.
