Bloomsburg Women’s Swimming Takes Two of Three

BLOOMSBURG – The Bloomsburg University women’s swimming team performed well in a tri-meet on Saturday as they hosted Edinboro University, Mansfield University and Kutztown University. The Huskies defeated Edinboro, 186.5-75.5 and Mansfield by a score of 222-2, but lost to Kutztown in a close match, 133.5-128.5.

The 200-medley relay team of Tori Hall (Newtown, Council Rock North), Madeline Barlow, Brittany McNeil (Oxford, Oxford Area), and Nicole Martin (Ephrata, Ephrata) opened the meet taking first in a time of 1:51.80.

The Huskies swept multiple events including the 100-free, 100-breast, 100-butterfly, 200-breast, and the 200-free relay. In the 100-free Martin took first with a time of 54:30 and Jacquie Glaser finished second in a time of 56.10.
In the 100-breast McNeil got her first win of the day with a time of 1:07.26, while Lisa Ferrigno (West Chester, Bishop Shanahan) tied in second in a time of 1:10.17.

In the 100-butterfly Barlow finished first for the Huskies in a time of 1:01.36.  McNeil finished first in the 200-breast with a time of 2:28.92 and Ferringo took second in a time of 2:32.97.

In the 200-free relays, the Huskies team of Sarah Grawe (Stafford, VA, North Stafford), Martin, McNeil, and Glaser took first place with a final time of 1:39.97.

Bloomsburg 3-3, will travel to Clarion on Saturday, November 13 for a 1:00 p.m. start.
