Bloomsburg University Rolls to Three Easy Wins on Saturday

BOSTON, MA—The Bloomsburg University wrestling team opened its 2010-11 season with three wins at the Boston University Duals. The Huskies beat Southern Maine 49-0, Bridgewater State 45-0 and Boston University 31-3.

In the day’s first match the Huskies posted two wins by fall and four more by technical fall in routing Southern Maine. Nick Wilcox (Greene, NY, Greene Central) at 133 and Mike Dessino (Middlesex, NJ, Middlesex) at 174 both posted their wins by fall.

Against Bridgewater State the Huskies rolled to a 45-0 win with a win by fall from Derek Shingara (Shamokin, Shamokin) at 141 and the second of the day for Dessino.

In the Huskies’ final match with Boston University the Huskies rolled to a 31-3 win with Dessino winning his third match of the day by fall in just 2:03 to lead the way.

The Huskies, now 3-0, will host Penn State on Friday, Nov. 12 starting at 7:05 p.m. Doors will open at 5 p.m. with a rededication of the Nelson Field House set for 6:30 p.m. The match will be televised by WNEP2-TV.
