FSU falls for 2nd time at Florida Tech Thanksgiving Classic
MELBOURNE, FL – Zack Trapp led six players in double figures with 20 points as Barry defeated Fayetteville State 91-75 in men’s basketball on the second day of the Florida Tech Thanksgiving Classic on Saturday.
Sidney Evans (Jr., Durham, NC) led the Broncos (2-2) with 13 points and eight rebounds while Jarmel Baxter (Jr., Davidson, NC) added 13 points as well. Ariel Robinson (Sr., Coral Springs, FL) was also in doubles figures scoring with 12 points. Andre Best (So., Raleigh, NC) had a game-high nine assists to go with eight points.
Willie Whitfield had 17 points and 10 rebounds for Barry (2-4) while Evan White and Emory Bennett had 16 points apiece. Marvin Davis and Vladimir Raymonvil had 10 points each.
The Broncos play at Johnson & Wales on Wednesday, with tipoff scheduled for 7:30 p.m.. The game is the third in a six-game, six week stretch away from home. Fayetteville State will return to Capel Arena on Jan. 6 to play CIAA foe Bowie State at 7:30 p.m.
