Tight Four-Setter Goes Against Felician Volleyball

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. -- Despite having four players record "double-doubles," the Felician College volleyball team went down to a tight 3-1 (23-25 25-22, 25-23, 25-20) non-conference defeat to host Molloy College on Tuesday night at Quealy Gymnasium.

Sophomore Jenna Matesic (Paramus, NJ) turned in 13 kills, 17 digs, and three aces for Felician, which falls to 5-22. The Golden Falcons received 12 kills and 16 digs from senior Amber Doran (Little Ferry, NJ). Junior Megan Delamater (Paramus, NJ) put up 11 kills and 18 digs, while senior Nicole Degenhardt (Secaucus, NJ) posted six kills, 42 assists and 11 digs.
   
After Felician took the early lead in the match with the Set 1 victory, the second set was tied 16 times and had nine lead changes before the Lions took four of the last five points. The Golden Falcons trailed, 24-15, in Set 3, and saved eight set points before finally succumbing. Felician fell behind 20-15 in Set 4, but pulled to within 21-20 before Molloy pulled away.

Angelina Nicalek (Valley Stream, NY) had 28 kills and 13 digs and setter Jennfer Koelbel (West Hempstead, NY) added 55 assists and 12 digs for the Lions (7-23). Felician ended non-conference play for the 2010 season.
