CHICO The 18th Annual Cardinal and Black Fall Classic is taking place this Thursday through Saturday at Nettleton Stadium, offering fans who can¹t wait until next year a great opportunity to take a sneak peek at the 2011 Chico State baseball team. The Wildcats, split into two teams for the Classic, will face off in a single game Thursday afternoon at 3:37, a doubleheader Friday at 5:07 p.m., with the series finale slated to begin at noon on Saturday. The public is invited to attend.
Wildcats assistant coach and second year Black squad skipper Mike Hartman will look to All American second baseman Jackson Evans and lefty pitcher Kevin Brahney to help defend his 2009 crown.
Freshman phenoms Nick Baker and Luke Barker headline assistant coach Matt Fonteno¹s Cardinal squad, who were heavy favorites in last year¹s ³Battle at the Nett.
