Moore named RMAC Women’s Diver of the Week for third time this season

GOLDEN, Colo. – Colorado School of Mines’ Sarah Moore has been named the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Women’s Diver of the Week as announced today by the RMAC.

Moore, a sophomore from Littleton, Colo. (Chatfield H.S.), scored 429.80 points in the 1-meter event last weekend at the Mesa State Invite finishing second in the event. Moore’s score qualifies her for the NCAA National Championships as she becomes the first swimming & diving athlete to automatically qualify this season. The RMAC Women’s Pre-Season Diver of the Year, Moore has now been named Diver of the Week nine times during her career at Mines.

During the 2009-10 season, Moore earned All-American (fifth place; 3-meter diving - 424.50) and Honorable Mention All-American (15th place; 1-meter diving - 329.35) honors at the NCAA Division II Championships.

At the 2009 RMAC Championships, Moore was named Women’s Diver of the Meet earning First Team All-RMAC honors as she took home the title in both the 1-meter and 3-meter events. Moore was also named RMAC Women’s Diver of the Year establishing new RMAC records in both the 1-meter (408.90) and the 3-meter (474.10) events at the RMAC Championships.

The Orediggers will host Southwestern University on Jan. 4 at the CSM Natatorium at 3:00 pm. Mines will participate in a dual meet against Mesa State on Jan. 15 at El Pomar Natatorium in Grand Junction, Colo.
