Evans and Woodworth named NSCAA Second Team All-Central Region; Stark earns Third Team recognition

GOLDEN, Colo. – Colorado School of Mines women’s soccer players Anna Evans, Megan Woodworth and Jessica Stark all earned National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-Central Region honors as announced today by the NSCAA.

Evans and Woodworth were named to the Second Team while Stark earned Third Team accolades.

Evans, a freshman midfielder / forward from Arvada, Colo. (Arvada West H.S.), was the first women’s soccer player in the history of Mines to be named Freshman of the Year. A Second Team All-RMAC selection, Evans started all 21 matches this season for Mines. A Daktronics First Team All-Central Region pick, Evans finished the season with 11 goals and 26 points which ranks her fourth in the RMAC in both categories.

Woodworth, a sophomore midfielder from Centennial, Colo. (Smoky Hill H.S.), garnered First Team All-RMAC honors. A Pre-Season All-RMAC selection, Woodworth finished the season ranked second in the RMAC in assists (10), fifth in points (25) and eighth in goals (7). A Daktronics First Team All-Central Region selection, Woodworth established a new single-game record for assists (3) and a new single-season record for assists this season.

Stark, a senior defender from Abilene, Texas (Cooper H.S.), garnered First Team All-RMAC accolades for the first time in her career this season. A Pre-Season All-RMAC selection, Stark started all 21 matches this season for Mines. Stark finished the season with five goals and one assist earning Daktronics First Team All-Central Region honors.

The Orediggers finished the 2010 season with a record of 11-6-4 overall and 9-4-1 in the RMAC. Mines appeared in the RMAC Tournament for the fourth straight season. The 2010 season marked the third consecutive season CSM earned an NCAA Tournament berth in just the sixth season of the program.
