Volleyball Ends Regular Season with 3-1 Loss to Mount Olive

The Belmont Abbey volleyball team wrapped up the 2010 regular season with a 3-1 loss at Mount Olive this afternoon at Kornegay Arena. Scores were 18-25, 18-25, 25-12 and 22-25. Mount Olive improves to 7-22 overall and 4-14 in Conference Carolinas, while the Abbey drops to 18-10 overall and 11-7 in Conference Carolinas.

Belmont Abbey hit .178 as Remick Tiller and Lydia Schellenberg both led the Crusaders with ten kills apiece. Jennifer Angelich added six while Bria James and Angela Jubb both contributed with five. James finished with four of the Abbey's six service aces. Kay Schellenberg handed out 32 assists and recorded a pair of service aces.

Defensively, the Crusaders registered 49 digs as Lydia Schellenberg and Tiller finished with 13 and ten, respectively, to post double doubles. James chipped in with nine.

Carly White led Mount Olive with 13 kills, the only Trojan to reach double figures. Kailey Preece handed out 38 assists and posted two service aces. Feliz Ramirez led Mount Olive with 13 digs.
