UCO men's basketball signs state standout

EDMOND (Nov. 10) – Central Oklahoma picked up one of the best high school players in the state Wednesday when Edmond Memorial High School’s Jared Jobe inked a letter of intent with the Bronchos on the first day of the early signing period.

A 6-foot-1, 170-pound guard, Jobe averaged 11.6 points, 3.4 assists, 2.6 rebounds and 1.8 steals a game last year while shooting 44 percent from 3-point range in leading the Bulldogs to the Class 6A state tournament and Memorial is expected to be a top state championship contender this season.

“We’re thrilled to have Jared join our program and look forward to having him with us next year,” said UCO head coach Terry Evans.  “Jared is a very smart player, a great shooter and an even better young man.”

The Bronchos, ranked 18th in the NCAA Division II preseason poll, open the 2010-11 season this weekend when they travel to Las Vegas to play two games in the High Desert/South Central Challenge.
