Savage, Royer Named to All-GSC Men's Soccer Team

SEARCY – Harding sophomore midfielder Jackson Savage and sophomore defender Rhon Royer were named 2nd Team All-Gulf South Conference on Wednesday as the conference announced its postseason men’s soccer honors.

Savage, a native of Coppell, Texas, was one of only three Harding players to start all 16 games this season. He scored one goal and had a team-best two assists. Savage led the team with 40 shots, including 14 shots on goal.

Royer, who hails from George Town, Bahamas, started 15 games. He played 1,174 minutes and took 11 shots, three on goal. Due in part to Royer’s play as a defender, Harding allowed only 38 goals in 2010, the third-fewest allowed in program history.

Since Harding began men’s soccer in 2000, it has had 14 All-GSC honorees. The team has had at least two players honored each of the last three seasons.
